ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Cancer Care Program of NL Health Services has a provincial mandate to deliver cancer care to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. It operates at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre (DHBMCC) in St. John's, with regional cancer centres providing systemic therapy in Corner Brook, Gander, and Grand Falls. NL Health Services is currently seeking one (1) Radiation Oncologist to join the clinical team at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre in St. John's, NL.

The successful candidate will work alongside 10 other Radiation Oncologists based in St. John's. Our Oncologists participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds and work closely with colleagues within the provincial cancer care program. The Cancer Care Program is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. This position offers opportunities for teaching, scholarly activities, and clinical trials participation.
The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre is fully equipped with:
• Two Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators with 120 HDMLC, OBI, and Varian Perfect Pitch Couch
• Two Varian C-Series linear accelerators with 120MLC and OBI
• Orthovoltage unit
• HDR Brachytherapy unit
• Two CT-Simulators
• Eclipse Treatment Planning System and ARIA Radiation Oncology information system
• Active tumour boards for all major disease sites
• Quality assurance and site-based peer review
• Prostate and gynecological HDR brachytherapy and SBRT
• On-site PET scanner at the Health Sciences Centre
