General Practitioner in Radiation Oncology

Join one of the world's renowned cancer organizations. BC Cancer is looking for a General Practitioner in Radiation Oncology to join its team in beautiful Victoria. This site offers a full range of services in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, and support services such as Nutrition, Clinical Trials and Patient and Family Counseling. BC Cancer – Victoria also partners with a network of community centres such as Nanaimo, BC, so that patients can continue to receive systemic therapy in their local communities.
The successful applicant will:
Work with a team of specialized radiation oncologists and allied health professionals and participate exclusively in the care of Oncology patients.
Participate in the ambulatory care treatment and follow up of patients.
Support in-patient care of patients receiving treatment
The funding for the position is set at a maximum of 1.0 FTE. However, the opportunity is flexible and could be offered to more than one candidate who is interested in working in the role part-time on a permanent basis. Service contract and salary options are available.
What you bring:
Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP)
Eligibility for appointment to medical staff of BC Cancer, and Royal Jubilee Hospital.
Eligibility for appointment to the University of British Columbia.
In-patient and oncology experience is an asset but is not required. No previous experience in radiation oncology is required; BC Cancer will support your training, involving both didactic virtual teaching, and in-clinic patient-related instruction.
Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
