Membership Benefits

Being a CARO member means being part of a countrywide community of people committed to the practice and advancement of radiation therapy in cancer care. CARO advocates on many fronts to raise awareness of radiation therapy issues, particularly in relation to radiation utilization, wait times, human resources, and the uptake of new technologies.

As a CARO member, you’re tapped into year round opportunities for:

  •  Education funding. CARO funds over $300,000 in grants, awards and fellowships each year. Only CARO members can apply to these programs.
  • Networking. Through events and programs offered by CARO and other organizations, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to connect and share ideas with people who share your professional interests. Access to CARO’s searchable database lets you find colleagues in your practice area. CARO makes it easier to collaborate with professionals in Radiation Oncology and related professions.
  • Free ESTRO membership. As a CARO member you receive full membership with ESTRO at no additional cost. This includes subscription and online access to the Green Journal and reduced fees for attending ESTRO and joint conferences or courses.
  • Publishing your work. CARO’s official journal, Cureus is now PubMed indexed. Members can submit their publications, with no author submission fee. CARO also delivers a weekly digest right to members’ inboxes highlighting updates on all publications authored by CARO members that week.
  • Greater involvement. Being a CARO member means you are eligible to apply for, and elect 12 board of director positions that govern this national society of over 600.
  • Giving back. Through CARO’s charitable arm, the Canadian Radiation Oncology Foundation, you can give back to Radiation Oncology community and help nurture the growth and professional development of future radiation oncologists.

 CARO Annual Scientific Meeting Benefits

CARO hosts a national Annual Scientific Meeting covering all aspects of Radiation Oncology and the multidisciplinary treatment of cancer. Registration fees are reduced for CARO members.
