Locum Radiation Oncologist

Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Program, ON

We are seeking a dynamic individual as a locum (full-time) Radiation Oncologist. The successful applicant will be a Radiation Oncologist who will join our SMRCP team of 10 Radiation Oncologists, 9 Medical Oncologists, 7 Hematology Oncologists/Hematologists, 3 Gynecologic Oncologists, and a comprehensive interdisciplinary group of cancer care professionals committed to delivering exceptional cancer care to the residents of Simcoe Muskoka. The position is an 18 month 1.0 FTE locum position (July 2024 – December 2025). An interest in genitourinary and gynecological malignancies is desirable and experience with both TRUS-fiducial and Hydrogel Spacer insertion as well as intracavitary brachytherapy is an asset but not required. 1 position available, minimum 1 year (mid 2024-mid 2025)

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within a provincial Radiation Therapy program, committed to clinical excellence through evidence based standardized care and knowledge generation. Clinical duties are likely to include 2 sites depending on departmental needs and skills of applicants. Current clinical needs may include breast, lung, lymphoma, skin, GU and CNS malignancies. In addition to their clinical duties, the candidate will participate in research, administrative, and educational activities. We have a complement of 11 radiation oncology residents and 1-2 clinical fellows. Faculty appointment and academic rank with UBC Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Radiation Oncology will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. An appointment with the Provincial Health Service Authority (PHSA) is mandatory and consulting privileges at VGH are
expected.

We are seeking an outstanding and visionary cancer trialist for the position of Senior Investigator (SI). Expertise in cancer clinical trial methods and conduct is required. Interest/expertise in investigational new drugs, symptom science/supportive care, patient reported outcomes, application of real world evidence and clinical trials is desirable but not required. As one of our Senior Investigators you will be co-principal investigator of individual trials, and leader within the CCTG program and the CCTG scientific committees.
