New to the Foundation’s Research Program - Clinician Scientist Award
The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada (PCRFC) is pleased to offer a limited number of Clinician-Scientist awards, which provide salary and research support for outstanding Clinician-Scientists initiating a career as independent investigators/junior faculty in prostate cancer research. These awards provide the opportunity for new faculty with 3 or fewer years of service as independent investigators to develop and demonstrate independence in initiating and conducting prostate cancer research.

Notification last week of June 2009
Award start date July 1, 2009 or later
Candidates for the PCRFC Clinician-Scientist award must:
· hold an M.D. degree or equivalent
· be licensed to practice medicine in Canada
. be nominated by a hospital-affiliated research institution
Candidates must have held a faculty level position as a clinician-scientist for no more than 3 years at the time of the commencement of the award. The proposed research must be in the area of prostate cancer. The competition is open to clinician scientists practicing in any area of oncology (e.g. medical oncology, urological oncology, radiation oncology, etc).
The PCRFC will make a maximum total contribution of $150,000 per year, per award, for up to two years.
