Image 1 The image shows the radiation treatment fields (the lines) coming into a cancerous area to be treated with radiation. The colours are used to represent the dose to the various areas in the head, with the blue colors showing areas of less dose and the red colors showing areas of high dose. The technique used for this treatment is Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) which is one of the newest techniques in wide spread use around the world.
