In 2007, AstraZeneca and CARO announced the first annual competition for $125,000 in grant monies for pilot studies relating to combining molecular inhibitors and radiotherapy; the RAZCER (Rapid AstraZeneca & CARO Evaluation of Radiomodifiers) Grants.

The program was very successful with 6 awards being distributed to CARO members across Canada in that first year.  3 awardees benefitted in 2009 and we look forward to increasing those numbers in 2010.  We are pleased that AstraZeneca has continued this program and look forward to a continued partnership.

AstraZeneca has been a valued partner with CARO in providing funding towards the annual scientific meeting since 2001.  The company became a metal sponsor in 2002 and has continued to provide unrestricted educational grants at a metal level since.
